Amy Bales, Director of Trade Compliance, UCI-FRAM AutoBrands

Amy Bales is the Director for Trade Compliance for UCI-FRAM AutoParts, the parent company for such well-known brands as FRAM, Champion and Luberfiner filters; Prestone Antifreeze and car care; Autolite sparkplugs; and Airtex and ASC automotive pumps. 

A licensed customs broker since 1996, she has over 20 years of experience in import/export trade compliance and international logistics. Her responsibilities include directing compliance assurance initiatives, customs audit management, leading the company’s membership in the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, and managing the company’s Free Trade Agreement preference programs.  Her automotive, FTZ and textile industry expertise was gained through her ten years at Toyota’s Erlanger, KY corporate manufacturing headquarters in the Customs and HazMat Administration departments, and three years at Standard Textile in Cincinnati, as the Manager of International Trade Compliance.

“Compliance IS good for business” is her motto, and she has presented at both the national and local levels on international trade compliance assurance initiatives. Amy holds a dual Bachelor’s degree from Miami University in International Studies and Political Science with a minor in Spanish; she also holds a paralegal certificate.  Union, Kentucky is her home base where she lives with her husband and fourteen year old son. She enjoys shopping, music, shopping, reading, shopping, hot yoga, shopping and rooting for her local baseball team, the Florence Freedom.
