Mark Heefner, Commissioner of Aviation, Greater Binghamton Airport

Mark Heefner is the Commissioner of Aviation for the Greater Binghamton Airport (BGM). His focus at the Airport is sustainable and future growth for the Airport through the addition of air service to BGM, growing General Aviation at BGM, cultivating additional non-commercial aviation business, and developing the 300+ acres available at BGM. In addition to the aforementioned areas of focus, Mark is tasked with Airport Safety and Security, Personnel management of the Aviation team and the businesses and organizations at the Airport, Community relations, and Broome County responsibilities. Prior to his appointment of Commissioner in 2019, Mark served as Deputy Commissioner of Aviation at BGM where he over saw a $13M Runway Rehabilitation project, coordinated the purchase of snow removal equipment and ARFF equipment, created or brought back several community functions such as the Sunset Runway 5k, the 2018 Air Show, Honor Flights, and Halloween at the Airport. Mark Heefner attended Fairmont State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in 'Aviation Management' and 'Professional Pilot'. He began his aviation career in Clarksburg, WV at North Central West Virginia Airport (CKB).
