Ellen Goel, Head of Entrepreneurship Programme and Associate Faculty, Singapore University of Social Sciences

Ellen Goel is the Head of the Entrepreneurship Programme at Singapore University of Social Sciences. Having gone through the entrepreneurial journey herself, she is now a keen advocate of helping students start companies. At the university, she launched an incubator in partnership with Alibaba Cloud offering students a Minor in Entrepreneurship if they attract funding for their businesses. Within 3 years, 40+ startups have been incubated, 14+ companies received funding of $8+ Million. Ellen also launched a series of experiential entrepreneurship programmes including the Impact Startup Challenge that has scaled regionally to 6 countries including China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore. Her latest project is dedicated to help graduates create jobs for themselves in light of the economic outlook due to the covid-19 pandemic. She has launched a Venture Builder that provides employment for the graduates and structured support to help graduates create businesses that pay their bills.
