Marc Tachelet is the Director of the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) since 1 April 2026.
He joined the European Commission in 1998, working in the Directorate-General for Information Society (now Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology) on the financial implementation of EU research programmes. He later became Head of Unit at the Directorate-General for Translation, responsible for financial resources, internal control and strategic programming.
Before joining HaDEA, he worked for 17 years in the European Research Executive Agency (REA), first as Head of Department for Administration, Finance and Support, and then as Head of an operational Department managing research and innovation activities. From April 2017 to March 2026 he was the REA Director.
Prior to the European Commission, Mr Tachelet worked as an Audit Manager at Ernst & Young in Brussels and for the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg.
He holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from KU Leuven and is a certified public auditor.
