John Tibbles is a UK based consultant and also Exceutive Director Operations of the Sub Optic Foundation . Prior to retirement  after 30 years in the industry John was responsible for large scale global network developments  involving major projects in all regions of the world and was involved ats enior management level on private and consortuium funded  projects  , He finds it ironic that in recent times as a consultant he has  advised and assisted on decommsioning several of the systems that he played a major part in their deployment.  His past employers comprised Cable and Wireless, Worldcom/Verizon, REACH and Telstra International .His main consulting focus  is on strategic and political aspects of subsea systems  but he has also been an aritrator and moderator on a range of  iinternational telecom service disputes as well as subsea systems. . John regularly  presents /speaks at leading industry events and has published several articles on strategic and geo political aspects so important to  subssea network development  today.
