Matthew Smith, Head of Student Progress, Biology Teacher, Dulwich International High School Suzhou

I have been in education for 13 years. Currently, I am the Head of Student Progress at Dulwich International High School Suzhou, a school that caters for Chinese and international students from year 10 to year 13. My role encompasses the collection and analysis of student data from a pastoral and academic lens and providing easy to digest and understand data for leadership, teachers, and students to use to inform and improve learning and teaching.

I am also involved in Edtech and am passionate about developing the skills and use of education technology to develop our staff and students. One area I am particularly keen on is the use of technology for assessment. Used correctly, it can revolutionise the classroom and provide a creative and interactive environment that will build student skill and knowledge whilst making lessons engaging and fun.
