Takemi Hasegawa is an R&D manager at Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (SEI). He is in charge of development of optical fibers including submarine fibers, multi-core fibers, and component fibers. He joined SEI in 1999, and has been engaged in R&D on optical fibers and their applications. He received M.E. degree from the University of Tokyo in 1999. He is currently a member of IEEE Phonics Society, and served as the Chair of its Tokyo Section Chapter in 2023. He is a member of SubOptic Fiber Innovation Working Group.
