Afrim Beka, is Director of Submarine Network Solutions at Nokia based in Dubai/UAE, serving as solutions consultant covering EMEA & Global. Afrim brings 29 years of experience in optical transport networking. Previously roles include, Director for Ultra Long-Haul, Pan European Network Solutions at Infinera from 2011 until 2017 when joined the Submarine Network Solutions at Infinera. Earlier in his career Afrim worked in R&D Submarine & Ultra Long-Haul solutions at BT Labs & Fujitsu Labs respectively.  In 2000 joined Nortel to run the pan-European systems engineering group until the Acquisition by Ciena in 2010. Afrim holds a diploma degree (BEng. Honors) in Electrical Engineering from University of Westminster & Master of Science in Optics & Microwaves from University College London in UK.
