Gerrit is the Deputy Executive Director at the Green Digital Finance Alliance (GDFA), where he leads the Every Action Counts (EAC) Coalition, a global network of leading digital finance and commerce players, with combined access to 3 billion customers, and convened to empower 1 billion people for green action. He has also led and participated in climate food consumption nexus and energy efficiency mortgage research projects. In addition to his work at GDFA, Gerrit is Co-founder and President of the Swiss Green Fintech Network (GFN), a multi-stakeholder association fostering the green digital finance ecosystem. As a member of GFN, he co-authored the Green Fintech Action Plan for the Swiss finance ministry. He is also a member of the ESG Advisory Group of Icebreaker One and advises the Money 20/20 Europe on ESG and green finance matters. Earlier, Gerrit led the Swiss business of Tenity (formerly F10), a global incubator & accelerator network for the financial services industry, where he initiated a climate fintech-focused program and served as a board member at its investment arm. Gerrit worked as a banker for 10 years, mostly with ABN AMRO Bank, and before he became an entrepreneur in 2010, co-founded, led, and worked with - mostly FinTech - startups over 12 years, and led mobile payment projects at a telecommunications provider. Gerrit holds an MBA from IMD International in Lausanne and a BBA from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
