Marek has spent 17 years building the companies and infrastructure behind the global clean energy transition. He currently leads efforts in the Middle East to enable the world's first 100% renewable power grid at scale through grid-scale energy storage, and serves in advisory roles with the United Nations and Reichmuth & Co. Previously, Marek helped pioneer battery storage in Europe as one of the first employees at AES Energy Storage, before joining the founding team at Fluence - guiding it from startup to a $4.7bn IPO and overseeing more than $1bn in technology and services sales as Managing Director. In 2017, he was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for his impact on the sustainability industry. Marek also advises governments, multinationals, and innovators globally. He has published over 20 papers, co-authored the Volta Foundation Battery Report (100,000+ downloads), and spoken at 500+ events, including the UN, TEDx, and COP climate summits. Dr. Kubik holds master's and doctoral degrees in engineering, with executive education at Stanford University and MIT.
