Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamir Pakhuruddin is the Director of Institute of Nano Optoelectronics Research and Technology (INOR), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Previously, he was a Senior Photolithography Engineer at SilTerra and Senior R&D Engineer of Sputtering at Fuji Electric for 8 years, before academia. He is a Professional Technologist (Ts.) in Green Technology and a certified TTT by HRD Corporation. To date, he has trained more than 280 managers and engineers of First Solar, Maxeon (SunPower) and Hanwha Q Cells on solar cell device physics, and Intel on semiconductor physics and fabrication processes. His research focuses on advanced photovoltaics, covering next-generation photovoltaic (PV) devices, including III-nitrides/silicon tandem/multi-junction solar cells for space, semi-transparent PV windows and emerging applications. The research comprises simulation (via Ray Tracing, RayFlare, SCAPS-1D, PC1D etc.) and experimental approaches. Besides, he explores various transparent conductive oxides (TCOs) and anti-reflective coating (ARC) materials for PV devices.
