the title of my presentation is " Alkhurda Bab Rizk : Recycling as a Tool for Economic Empowerment and Green Investment " prof dr Wehad Samir: is the ceo and founder of alkhorda bab rizk , apioneeing social enterprise dedicated to safe waste recycling and the creative reuse of scrap materials and leftover resources . with a background in applied arts and a deep-rooted passion for sustainabilty , wehad has been a driving force in transforming waste into opportunity especially within the fashion , jewellery , handicraft sectors in egypt . with over a decade of experience in sustainable development and over 25 years working with traditional crafts and small industries ,wehad has led alkhourda bab rizk to become a national model for innovative upcycling and eco-conscious entrepeneurship .the initiative offers creative recycling solutions for various sectors fashion , jewellery and home decor by repurposing scrap materials industrial leftovers and every day objects such as cutlery , fabrics and material waste . under her leadership , the project has trained more than 25.850 women free of charge,empowering them with practical skills in recycling -based crafts . this not only contributes to environmental protection but also provides sustainable income opportunities for marginalized communities . herwork has been show cased at cop 27 in sharmel sheikh and published in key national platforms earning recognition from govermental and civil society organizations alike . wehad is celebrated for her strategic vision , artistic creativity , and dedication to environmental and social impact .she is a passionate advocate for integrating sustainability into local economies and promoting responsible waste mangement through education ,training and policy engagement . as a speaker at solar &storage live egypt 2025 .wehad will share her insights on the intersection of waste recycling m sustainability , and inclusive development . her session will highlight the power of creative reuse in driving both enviromental resilience and community empowerment -offering valuable inspiration to professionals , policemakers and changemakers in egypt and beyond .
