MSA CoEA aims to design and build affordable, socially responsible, environmentally-friendly and aesthetically appealing homes while offering hands-on training to students and professionals. It constructs homes (award-winning) that adopt green systems standing midway between vernacular and modern technologies. Examples are partially reinforced walls built with hollow interlocking compressed stabilized earth bricks (CSEB, ICSEB), hybrid roofs that integrate funicular shell domes and jack arch vaults, and openings created with date palm leaves' midribs, including mashrabiyya-like shutters.
