As a professional engineer with a background in optical physics and sensor applications, I have always been captivated by the power of solar radiation—a natural phenomenon we can observe, feel, and use, but cannot control. For humanity, the Sun has long been a source of life and inspiration, and today it stands at the center of the global transition toward sustainable energy. For over 25 years, I have dedicated my career to helping the research community and solar industry unlock the full potential of solar energy. As part of this journey, I lead the strategic direction and innovation efforts at EKO Instruments, focusing on advancing our technologies and developing solutions that improve the accuracy, reliability, and accessibility of solar measurements. While some describe solar energy as a “new” or “renewable” resource, the Sun has powered all energy systems on Earth for billions of years. What’s new is our ability to understand and apply it with increasing precision. I believe we are only at the beginning of this transformation. With the right vision, tools, and partnerships, we can accelerate the adoption of solar technologies worldwide. Being part of that future—and leading innovation that makes it possible—is what makes my work so rewarding.
