Sinead Booth is a seasoned professional and trailblazer in the mining and resources industry, currently 
serving as the Head of Decarbonisation Delivery at Fortescue. With a decade of international and 
interstate experience, Sinead has been at the forefront of major transformations within the sector. Her 
expertise spans automation, productivity enhancements, and, most notably, sustainability and 
decarbonisation initiatives.
In her current role, Sinead is entrusted with the critical responsibility of overseeing the implementation 
of all new green equipment and energy systems at Fortescue's iron ore operations in the Pilbara. 
Leading a dynamic team, she has successfully spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives, positioning 
Fortescue as a pioneer in sustainable mining practices.
One of Sinead's recent achievements includes orchestrating the delivery of Australia's first electric 
excavator to Fortescue's Cloudbreak operations last year. Her team's accomplishments underscore 
their commitment to advancing environmentally friendly technologies in the mining sector. Looking 
ahead, Sinead is enthusiastic about the upcoming projects on her agenda, which include the 
introduction of battery electric mobile equipment and locomotives, additional cabled machinery, the 
implementation of new solar and battery storage facilities in the Pilbara region and new demand 
response ways of working to respond to green energy availability.
