As Chief Executive of the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC), Geoffrey leads the Commission in delivering trusted, expert advice on energy markets and deliver solutions that support Australia’s transition to a reliable, affordable and low-emissions energy system.

With more than 20 years of public policy and executive leadership experience, Geoffrey has driven complex reforms across energy, climate, and major capital works procurement. His career has been defined by leading through uncertainty, shaping strategy, and delivering outcomes that create long-term public value while ensuring immediate operational effectiveness.

Geoffrey holds a Master of Public Policy, an Executive Master of Public Administration, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership.

When he's not focused on the energy transition, he runs an on-demand transport service for his two teenagers.
