How it works

CPD sessions are free to attend as part of your event registration. No separate booking or additional cost is required.

01 Register free

Sign up for Smart Energy 2027 at no cost as an installer or industry professional. Your registration covers full access to all CPD sessions.

02 Attend sessions

Join CPD-accredited sessions in the Empowering Smart Installers theatre (Theatre 3) and the Demo Theatre across both days of the event.

03 Collect your certificate

Receive an attendance confirmation certificate for each completed CPD session, documenting the session topic and points earned.

04 Submit to CEC

Log your points in the CEC accreditation portal. Mandatory CPD topics are set by Solar Accreditation Australia and count toward your annual requirement.

Mandatory CPD topics

Solar Accreditation Australia sets specific mandatory topics each year. In 2026 these covered Parallel Earth and Neutral Connections (COM001) and Fire Barrier Requirements in Habitable Rooms (COM002). Topics for 2027 will be confirmed and announced ahead of the event.

What the points are worth

CEC-accredited installers need to earn CPD points each year to maintain their accreditation. Smart Energy typically offers a significant proportion of your annual requirement in a single two-day visit. In 2026 up to 75 points were available on Day 1 alone.
