Zeeshan Uppal is CEO of RELM MENA, part of XBD Group Ltd, where he leads the development of regulated digital asset broker-dealer and trading capabilities in the Middle East. He played a key role in securing regulatory approval from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), helping establish another license in the groups structure having supported the business as Group COO and Compliance director leading on FCA, MICA, MSB, and AUSTRAC licensing and management in the digital asset space. Zeeshan is a delivery-focused executive with deep experience across banking, fintech and digital assets, specialising in regulatory strategy, operating model design and large-scale transformation. He has extensive experience working within FCA-regulated environments and helping financial institutions and fintechs launch and scale in complex regulatory landscapes. Earlier in his career, he co-founded Yielders, the UK’s first FCA-authorised Islamic finance-focused fintech platform, which he grew to £25M+ AUM, pioneering Sharia-compliant, regulated digital investment solutions. His expertise spans digital asset regulation, governance and risk, technology transformation and scaling regulated financial services businesses globally.
