Rachel George, Head of Campus, Geelong Grammar School

Rachel George is the Head of Campus at Geelong Grammar School, Toorak Campus. She has enjoyed over 20 years of teaching and educational leadership experience in both State and Independent schools, working in Early childhood Centres, Primary and Middle Schools. Rachel has also worked as an independent educational consultant and lectured at the Australian Catholic University. Rachel has presented at numerous conferences and participated in several research projects. More recently, Rachel was acknowledged for excellence in teaching by the Victorian Institute of Teaching for her capacity to engage colleagues, school and the broader community through the development of a Strategic Vision and Improvement Agenda. This year Rachel led a highly successful week-long, whole-community experiment that saw Geelong Grammar School design and implement a ‘future-school’ prototype that has created world-wide interest and has the potential to shape and improve the future of education. Rachel believes effective leadership should inspire and empower others to make transformational change in our collaborative pursuit to facilitate contemporary, meaningful and exceptional education.
