Pauline Jones is Associate Professor, Language in Education at the University of Wollongong where she teaches educational linguistics in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She is co-writer (with Beverly Derewianka) of Teaching Language in Context (OUP 2016). Her research interests are classroom dialogue, disciplinary literacies and educational semiotics. Recent projects include Transforming Literacy Outcomes (TRANSLIT), a 4 year study of the literacy demands of transition points from preschool to junior secondary school. She is currently exploring creativity and disciplinary dialogue, and multimodal digital literacy in science education. Her doctoral students’ projects reflect these various interests. She has recently been elected President of the Primary English Teaching Association of Australia (PETAA).
