Lyn Spiteri | Board Director
Victorian Music Teachers’ Association

Lyn Spiteri, Board Director, Victorian Music Teachers’ Association

Born and raised in Melbourne's West, Lyn pursued her love of music, and a desire to share it with the next generation, through tertiary studies at the Melba Conservatorium of Music where she studied Clarinet under Paul Champion (Principal Clarinetist of Orchestra Victoria). Passionate about teaching, she then went on to obtain a DipEd (Secondary) from the Australian Catholic University and began teaching instrumentally, arranging repertoire and conducting ensembles at a variety of different schools across the State, Catholic and Independent systems.

A member of the Westgate Concert Band for half of her life, Lyn values the importance of creating strong social and musical pathways within communities and connecting organisations that support this continued growth. She has been an active presence as a member of this band; playing, conducting, arranging, recruiting, fundraising and serving on the committee.
