Holly Millican is one of five educators who won the 2019 Learning Edge competition, a state-wide search to find NSW’s most creative digital educators, launched by The NSW Department of Education and Teachers Mutual Bank. She has since released a video series through Teacher Magazine (AITSL) which focuses on “making maths fun”- this series aims to show how everyday teachers can implement a huge range of alternate teaching methods with restricted time and funding. Holly currently teaches Mathematics to students in years 7 – 12 at South Grafton High School and has a strong belief that embedding games-based approaches to learning and conceptualising mathematics through hands on approaches to teaching is more beneficial than traditional “chalk and talk” methods.
