Vince Keenan is the Head of Innovation Engagement for the Mayor’s Office of Mobility Innovation and co-leads Detroit's hydrogen economy initiative. His work spans 25 years in engagement, civic participation, and urban revitalization and has helped negotiate over $5 billion worth of new development in the city. Vince led the successful campaign to change the structure of Detroit governance from at-large to a district system for the first time in 100 years. Recruited by Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan when he first came to office, Vince has served as the city's first District 5 Manager, Major Projects Manager, and he operationalized the city's Community Benefits Ordinance, Community Outreach Ordinance and Transportation Innovation Zone. Vince is currently working on Detroit's hydrogen adoption and clean freight innovation strategy. He holds the U.S. patent for the webby nominated Publius.org, the first website that allowed voters to find their polling location, sample ballots and registration status. A lifelong Detroiter, he has lived in Washington D.C., Ann Arbor, Chicago and London, England but home is with his young family in Detroit's historic Corktown neighborhood.
