Tom Carto is the Director of Market Development at Electra.aero, a company pioneering hybrid-electric, ultra-short takeoff and landing aircraft that brings air travel closer to where we live, work, and play. With over 18 years of experience as a financial and operational executive, Tom leads Electra’s infrastructure strategy, working with regulators, municipalities, states, airport planners, and industry partners to prepare the physical and regulatory groundwork for next-generation regional air mobility. Electra’s aircraft use patented blown-lift technology to take off and land in as little as 300 feet, offering helicopter-like access with the safety, performance, and economics of a fixed-wing aircraft. Powered by a hybrid-electric propulsion system, the aircraft enable quiet, clean operations near communities, low emissions on short routes, and extended range capability for longer missions. Prior to joining Electra, Tom held several leadership positions in the aviation industry, including CEO of Air Journey and COO of Chicago Helicopter Experience, where he was part of the team that developed Chicago’s first-ever privately owned waterway-heliport development.
