Arun Sharma, Director, DBT Mission, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India

Arun Sharma is working as Director, DBT Mission in Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India, which is responsible for driving the world’s largest identity linked social benefits delivery program across the country. He works on policy, regulatory and supervision aspects of Aadhaar (India’s Unique Identification system) and government payments systems.
Prior to joining the DBT Mission, Arun worked with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where he was leading IFC’s G2P (government to person) payments practice in South Asia. He has also worked in Ministries of Finance and Urban Development, and in the Office of Controller General of Accounts of India.
Arun is a civil servant, and specialises in public financial management, payments systems, digital ID and financial inclusion. He has an MBA from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, a Diploma in Global Governance from German Development Institute (DIE), Bonn, and Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi, India.
