Brett Butcher MTech (Pvmts), MBA (Tech Mgmt), BE (Civil - hons) Director, Program Prioritisation and Integration, Transport for NSW Brett is a professional engineer and has been with Transport for NSW for over 30 years. After spending his early career in maintenance program delivery roles across regional NSW, Brett then spend almost 20 years working in asset maintenance planning and asset management roles in Northern NSW. In 2020 Brett moved into the role of Director, Maintenance and Delivery North, managing a large delivery team of around 600 staff who developed and delivered the annual North Region maintenance, safety and natural disaster programs and response. Brett oversaw TfNSW’ response to devastating bushfires in 2019-20, through to the 2021-22 flooding which included the Lismore flood, now regarded as the largest flood in modern Australian history. Brett has practical experience across the asset management and maintenance and delivery disciplines from a variety of roles and locations across the state. In 2023 Brett moved into the role of Director, Regional Assets, leading a team of over 100 staff who undertake the asset management and maintenance planning of all State road and bridge assets in regional NSW, and with annual programs in excess of $1.2B – ‘looking after the assets that connect our communities’. From June 2025 Brett became the Director, Program Prioritisation and Integration, a new role that manages the state-wide Divisional portfolio pipeline including program planning, project selection, integration opportunity identification, priority programming across all asset classes, funding sources and sponsor/client requests - 'better roads; safer journeys'
