Thebe Mapheto is an Electrical Engineering Technician (Power) at the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, with over a decade of experience in the public energy sector. Since joining the municipality in 2013, he has played a key role in monitoring and supporting the implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects across Pretoria and surrounding regions. Beginning his career as an Engineering Technician Trainee, Thebe has steadily grown into a technical specialist focused on sustainable energy solutions within municipal infrastructure. His work contributes to improving energy performance, advancing renewable energy integration, and supporting the City of Tshwane’s broader sustainability objectives. He holds a National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Tshwane University of Technology and is currently completing his BTech in Electrical Engineering. With strong analytical skills and practical field experience, Thebe is committed to advancing clean energy initiatives and strengthening South Africa’s municipal power systems.
