Krishna is a seasoned professional with over 35 years of experience in engineering, project development, asset creation and financial, commercial and transaction advisory. Since joining Cresco in 2017, he has further honed his experience for large utility scale energy and property projects. Krishna has leveraged his extensive background to drive success in various projects. Before Cresco, Krishna held senior leadership positions in the mining and energy sectors at Eskom and Anglo American. As a mechanical engineer with a government certificate of competence, a Diploma in Project Management, and an MBA, Krishna has a robust educational foundation that complements his professional expertise. During his tenure at Eskom, Krishna held several engineering and project development roles, most notable was spearheading the project development of Eskom’s new build programme in the early 2000’s. He then transitioned to the Anglo American Group, where he spent the last seven years of his corporate career. At Anglo American, Krishna held leadership roles in engineering and project management, culminating in his position as Head of Engineering Reviews for Anglo American Plc. In May 2014, Krishna left Anglo American to establish his consultancy firm, specialising in engineering, plant operations optimisation, project development, and project management services within the resources and energy sectors. His extensive experience also includes asset creation, project development, financial and procurement advisory, and management and optimisation in the energy and mining industries. Krishna has an in depth knowledge and experience in the South African energy sector, have firsthand on the job experience in Eskom’s internal energy market, as well as having led a multidisciplinary team of global experts to develop the electricity supply industry restructuring strategy and plan in 2000 / 2001, many aspects of which are currently being implemented by Eskom and NERSA as the South African Wholesale Electricity Market.
