A/Prof Talat Uppal is a gynaecologist with a clinical and research focus on abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB), including heavy menstrual bleeding, iron deficiency and  procedural hysteroscopy.. She is Director of Women's Health Road (WHR), a multidisciplinary, hybrid, integrated,  women's health service in Sydney, and founder of Australia's first AUB Management Hub. She is a Clinical Associate Professor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Macquarie University and Visiting Medical Officer at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai and Macquarie University Hospitals. A Fellow of RANZCOG and member of the FIGO Committee on Menstrual Disorders and Related Health Impacts, she was awarded a RANZCOG Conspicuous Service Medal. She founded the Bleed Better Initiative, the charity behind International Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Day (11 May). A dedicated clinical educator, she regularly contributes to articles, podcasts, panels, and media on AUB management.
