Roo Harris is a Founding Partner at Scale Investors, the first women-led venture fund investing exclusively into women-led startups in Australia. With a focus on the "Gender Innovation Gap," Roo backs founders who leverage lived experience to solve critical market failures in health, climate, and the care economy.  She is passionate about the intersection of impact and returns Roo’s investment approach is informed by over 15 years in international commercial law, including advising the ruling family of Qatar on their cross border investments and transactions. A venture investor since 2009, she has a proven track record which includes a 27x return, as well as declining investment into the failed and fraudulent healthtech venture, Theranos.   A specialist in gender-lens investing, Roo serves as an Australian Ambassador for 2X Global, the global gender finance metric. She is also an advisor to the T-EDI standards of the Tech Council of Australia, and has been an active participant in the development and implementation of Equity Clear, which was co-founded by Scale Investors.   Roo holds a BA/LLB and a Masters in Commercial Law from the University of Melbourne. She is working to complete a second Masters in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
