Dr Melvin Wu is the Chief Clinical Informatics Officer at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Singapore. He has been with the institution for over two decades, balancing direct psychiatric care at the National Addictions Management Service with clinical technology leadership for the larger hospital. He was involved in the development and implementation of the National Electronic Health Record (NGEMR) system at IMH, a collaborative digital transformation project alongside Synapxe and the National Healthcare Group since 2014. NGEMR is a single instance EMR used by the majority of the public healthcare providers in Singapore. He leads the Inpatient Functional Group for the NHG NGEMR team and was part of the team that built up the system for IMH. He is also the lead for Patient Confidentiality (NGEMR) for NHG.
