Associate Professor Bhavesh Patel works as a public and private paediatric surgeon in Queensland, and as the state-wide Clinical Lead for the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program through Clinical Excellence Queensland. He contributes to national and international advisory groups focused on improving surgical outcomes. Bhavesh’s work extends beyond operative care to systems-level innovation, with a strong focus on patient-centred communication, digital health and artificial intelligence, human factors and health literacy. His current projects explore the use of infographics, video, and AI-enabled tools to enhance patient understanding, engagement and trust. He sits on national and statewide governance committees in digital health and artificial intelligence.
