Anthony Barberi | Non-Executive Director
North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust

Anthony Barberi, Non-Executive Director, North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust

Anthony Barberi is a clinician and digital health leader whose career bridges the NHS in England and the Australian public health system. Dual qualified as a medical doctor and dental surgeon, he serves as a Non-Executive Director on an NHS Foundation Trust board in England, and has previously worked in clinical informatics and enterprise architecture leadership roles with Western Health and Barwon Health in Victoria.  He contributes to a range of digital health committees and working groups in both systems, helping shape how hospitals, regions and national bodies approach data platforms, electronic records and clinical AI. He is an Associate Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health. Anthony enjoys teaching the next cohort of clinical and executive leaders on AI in healthcare and practical implementatios of digital health, focussing on the realities of moving digital tools from boardroom slide deck to bedside use, and more and more directly into the patient's hands.  His passion for digital innovation in healthcare grew from witnessing how poorly implemented systems hinder busy clinicians who are trying their best to work in already less than ideal settings, and the subsequent stress and anxiety navigating a complex health system can cause for patients and their families. His perspective is shaped by working between international health systems, metropolitan health settings, as well as regional and rural health and the way that are arriving at different or complementary digital solutions for similar problems, that are designed to work in their context.
