Pierre Tapie worked as a researcher in Biophysics and Biotechnology for nine years, after which he dedicated 23 years to higher education, first as Dean of a Graduate School of Engineering, then as President of ESSEC, a world renowned business school. Over that period, he held several senior responsibilities within national and international academic organizations (CGE, FESIC, GRLI, EFMD, AACSB, COBS, etc.), and was President of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles, a French national institution which represents national engineering and business schools, from 2009 to 2013. These experiences helped him forge a very comprehensive understanding of higher education in France and abroad.
Pierre Tapie is a graduate of the École Polytechnique, has a Ph.D. in biophysics, and an MBA from INSEAD. He has taught business ethics, has published a number of articles and has lectured extensively on the evolution of higher education in the world, on executive education and globally responsible leadership. He brings to PAXTER the point of view of an institutional and academic leader, combined with a very multidisciplinary background.
