Former private-sector business leader and today, a partner to industry experts, academics, entrepreneurs, SME’s, multinationals – and everything in between. 

Since 2011, I have led the charge of Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM), a government statutory body chaired by the country’s prime minister, to implement a national innovation strategy, jump-starting wealth creation through knowledge, technology and innovation. 

My goal is to facilitate and stimulate Malaysia’s development by laying down the foundations of innovation to inspire and nurture a new generation of entrepreneurs. This is creating wealth organically, and is central to the goals of Vision 2020. 

Today, the world Malaysia finds itself in is complex, smaller and more interconnected than ever before, and so the challenge facing Malaysia is how to adapt, evolve and embrace change for the greater good. We urge companies to anticipate change and ask, ‘What’s next?’ or ‘What areas should I be developing products for?’ 

I work with companies and academics that create IPs to give us deep and meaningful insights into industry trends and developments, and the public sector to ensure that innovation is engrained throughout our nation.

Prior to joining AIM, I served as the Group Managing Director of Country Heights Holdings Bhd from April 2008 to June 2011 and group CFO and Executive Director of Sunway Bhd from February 1997 to March 2008. 

Before serving with Sunway Group, I was with Schlumberger group in France and South East Asia.
