Janice Kephart is a leading biometric and identity expert. She has been invited to testify before the UN Security Council and the US Congress on 19 times on issues pertaining to identity, biometrics, visa and border policies, REAL ID, and various legislative initiatives upon conclusion of her position as border counsel to the 9/11 Commission.
On the Commission, Janice recommended biometric borders, founded the terms biometric borders, terrorist travel, and the phrase we must assure that people are who they say they are and thereafter quickly became the terrorist travel go-to expert by national broadcasting networks and print reporters.
Janice won the 2015 Women in Biometrics Award, one of five women from over 50 nominated. She was MorphoTrak’s (now IDEMIA) Homeland Security Director prior to founding Identity Strategy Partners (IdSP), of which she is CEO.
IdSP supports the US State Department on next generation identity management development and deployment, DHS OBIM on IDENT engineering, NGIC’s BEWL efforts, and directly supports the US Department of Defense Program Manager Biometrics on next generation identity management architecture, acquisition, documentation and stakeholder engagement including the Face Recognition Interagency Working Group and DOD OUSD INS Identity Intelligence Directorate with watchlisting, governance and policy issues.
