Mr James Geldenhuys, Head: Aircraft Finance, Nedbank Capital

James Geldenhuys, head of Nedbank Capital’s Aircraft Finance business unit, has 30 years’ experience in the South African banking business. He has spent the last 22 years working in structured finance and has held senior structured finance positions at both ABSA and Nedbank, with particular experience in international tax structured finance and transactions in the oil industry across Africa.  Since 2001 he has had a special interest in aircraft leasing and, drawing on his considerable expertise in the airline industry, established Nedbank Capital’s specialist Aircraft Finance business in 2008.  He also served for five years as a non-executive director on the board of a regional airline which provided him with the relevant insight to the inner workings of an airline.  As such, James is well placed to comment on issues facing the local airline industry.
