Scaw Metals Group's Cast Products Facility

Is a leading manufacturer of specialised, high quality cast products used in the mining, railway, power and general engineering industries. Cast Products comprises of five foundry plants and is one of the largest foundry groups in the Southern Hemisphere.  These foundries are located in South Africa and have distribution facilities across Australia.

 

This extensive foundry network enables Cast Products to streamline production of a wide variety of products that includes locomotive frames and cast mono-bloc railway wheels. Cast Products has established a reputation of meeting customers' product, quality and delivery requirements, and has developed strong long-term relationships with leading players in its respective sectors.

 

The Germiston Foundry is one of the largest foundries in the southern hemisphere and produces castings with a finished weight of 30 tonnes. It is a leading supplier of single piece thin walled locomotive and passenger car frames, freight car components and high integrity cast steel railway wheels.

The foundry holds the American Association of Railroads' approval for the manufacture of locomotive frames, freight car side frames, bolsters and cast steel railway wheels.

 

Standard Foundry manufactures a wide range of railway equipment, for locomotives and freight wagons, various E-type, F-type rotary and non-rotary, MS, SS and DS couplers, drawbars, various types of yokes and draw gear parts.

Scaw Distribution supplies lifting and rigging equipment that is manufactured to international quality standards. All South African manufacturing specifications are met if not exceeded.

 

Scaw Distribution is responsible for marketing and distributing products directly to end users as solutions rather than commodities. Lifting and rigging equipment supplied by Scaw Distribution include general purpose steel wire ropes, Verope – high performance steel wire ropes, custom made wire rope, chain and synthetic slings, Crosby fittings, RAM Fibre products, CM and Yale hoists, and other tools and equipment associated with lifting and rigging products.
