Khaled Abbas Sayed, Professor, Transport Planning & Traffic Engineering House

Dr. Khaled Abbas has over 32 years of advisory/expert/specialist/academic experience in transportation consultancy, research, training and academia. This involved leading & managing transport groups/sections/departments and conducting projects/studies/research/training/teaching He worked in countries including Egypt, Australia, Saudi, Dubai, USA and UK. He is the founder and chairman of Transport Planning & Traffic Engineering Huse (TPTEH) as well as being a Professor of Transport Planning & Traffic Engineering. Formerly he was dean of Egypt National Institute of Transport (ENIT) and board member of several transport organisations in Egypt including National Authority for Tunnels, Holding Company for Roads, Bridges and Land Transport Projects, ENIT. Previously he worked as Expert at Public Transport Agency as well as Chief Specialist of Transportation Studies and Planning at Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Dubai. He was Manager of Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering at Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation (SMEC) Australia and is currently acting as Technical Principal.  He obtained a PhD in Transportation Engineering and Operations in 1991 from University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. He was a Fulbright visiting scholar at University of Texas USA in 1995 and a Hubert Humphrey fellow at Cornell University USA in 2000/2001. He was involved in more than 150 transport consultancy/research projects/studies with SMEC Australia, RTA Dubai, ENIT, UN, World Bank, European Union as well as a number of Egyptian, Saudi and UK consultants. He published 100 journal articles & conference papers, and attended more than 50 conferences/seminars. He taught more than 35 specialised academic undergraduate and graduate courses as well as designed and delivered more than 40 training courses to professionals from Australia, UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Ex-Soviet union Countries.
