APC was founded in 2011 by Dr. Mark Barrett and Prof. Brian Glennon of the UCD School of Chemical Bioprocess Engineering in Dublin, Ireland, who embarked on a mission to disrupt the pharma and biotech industries with a hyper-focused, accelerated approach to drug process development. Foregoing outside investment, APC has grown organically to become a global powerhouse in process development, partnering with companies large & small to bring medicines to market at unprecedented speed.
VLE Therapeutics was established, by APC’s shareholders, as a sister company to APC in 2021 to transform the manufacture of advanced biotherapeutics and vaccines. VLE leverages industry-first digitalization and scientific breakthroughs to transform the time and cost to manufacture these lifesaving medicines. Through the extension of APC’s research value chain, VLE & APC have created The Medicine Accelerator where time to patient is transformed through breakthrough science, digitization & manufacture.
