Consultant Haematologist, The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NUTH)
Dr Menne studied Medicine at the Free University in Berlin before undertaking specialist training in haematology in the UK (St Thomas’ Hospital, London, Ipswich Hospital and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge). After completing a PhD at Cambridge University Dr Menne spent four years at Harvard Children’s Hospital as a post-doctoral researcher before joining NUTH as a Consultant Haematologist in 2010.
Dr Menne has a special interest in multiple myeloma, acute leukaemia and lymphoma. He has a particular interest in early phase trials with an ultimate aim of bringing novel targeted therapies to NUTH.
Dr Menne is a regional sub-speciality research lead for haemato-oncology and lead for CAR T-cell therapy. He is a member of the Adult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia Working Group, the National Lymphoma Clinical Study Group and the National Low Grade and High Grade Lymphoma Working Group.
