Lisa Riste is a dedicated Research Fellow at the NIHR Greater Manchester Patient Safety Centre, affiliated with the prestigious University of Manchester. With a background in healthcare research and a passion for patient safety, Lisa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. With PhD and MSc in Public Health & Epideiology, her research focuses on addressing key challenges faced by safety professionals in the ever-evolving landscape of drug safety.

Lisa's work is driven by a commitment to improving the quality of healthcare delivery and ensuring the safety of patients. She adopts an innovative approach to problem-solving and pulling on the strengths of others, particularly those with lived experience to co-produce solutions. The latest innovation FLAG-Me Vision is an output of this multidisciplinary co-production, which identifies sight impairments to pharmacists to effect behaviour change via 1:1 consultations to empower patients to be more aware of and able to acces drug safety information, dosing regimes and even tell medications apart. Having been selected to speak at the World Drug Safety Congress Europe 2025, Lisa is recognized as a thought leader in the field of drug safety. Her presentation will offer valuable insights into the latest developments, trends, and strategies for safety professionals. Attendees can expect to gain practical knowledge and actionable takeaways to address the complex challenges that community pharmacists in particular face and what can be done to support their interventions with patients.
