Kristian van Kalmthout leads digital innovation at KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation, with a focus on improving treatment adherence through patient-centered technology. He directed the ASCENT project (Unitaid, $14M), the largest global implementation study on digital adherence technologies (DATs) for TB, and co-developed Aida, an AI-powered virtual treatment supporter. Kristian now advances digital adherence strategies in the Unite4TB consortium, integrating these tools into large-scale clinical trials for next-generation TB therapies.
