Dr. Tamzok was born in Zonguldak, the oldest coal district of Turkey, and grew up in the capital city Ankara. He received his Ph.D. degree in Political Science and Public Administration Department from Ankara University and B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mining Engineering Department from Middle East Technical University.
He has been working in Turkish Coal Enterprises since 1985. He is the planning manager and the strategic planning and internal control systems coordinator of the company since 2006. Dr. Tamzok has been working for about three decades in the Turkish Coal Enterprises and has engaged in many coal production projects, including some of the big integrated coal mine and power plant projects of Turkey.
Recently he undertook chair responsibilities for the Energy Raw Materials Commission of Turkish 10th Development Plan and the 23rd International Mining Congress of Turkey.
He has published many papers related with the mining and energy sectors in various journals and newspapers. He has affiliations in a number of professional organizations and in the expert committees, including the Chamber of Mining Engineers of Turkey, the World Mining Congress Turkish National Committee and World Energy Council Turkish National Committee.
