Ian McLean is the Vice President for Southeast Asia & Oceania at APTelecom, where he leads business development and strategic client engagement across the Asia-Pacific region. With more than a decade of experience in the telecommunications and digital infrastructure sectors, Ian has built a strong track record of developing commercial partnerships and delivering complex connectivity solutions for enterprise, carrier, and government customers. Prior to joining APTelecom, Ian held senior leadership roles with leading Australian telecommunications providers, including a national fiber optic network operator and a fixed wireless and satellite communications company. During this time, he built successful direct sales and wholesale partnership channels, driving revenue and market growth, and delivering high-value connectivity solutions. At APTelecom, Ian works closely with submarine cable operators, carriers, American hyperscalers, investors, and governments to advance international connectivity initiatives, fiber capacity sales, and digital infrastructure investments throughout Southeast Asia and Oceania. His expertise spans subsea cable systems, terrestrial fiber networks, strategic partnerships, and market development, helping clients navigate the evolving global telecommunications landscape and accelerate the deployment of next-generation digital infrastructure.
