Dr. Angela Shen is a retired CAPTAIN from the US Public Health Service with over 22 years of service at the US Department of Health and Human Services.  She served as a public health leader, scientist, regulator, and health services researcher—domestically and abroad— at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, National Vaccine Program Office, Administration for Children and Families, and USAID. Dr. Shen has expertise in public health practice, policy, and research and specializes in vaccines and immunizations.  She publishes frequently on vaccine and immunization policy and practice and her research and experience has been extensively focused on understanding barriers to vaccine innovation, access to immunization services, adult immunization, and quality and performance measurement. Dr. Shen is currently an associate professor at the Drexel Dornsife School of Public Health, Visiting Professor at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and a public health consultant.
