Rachel Arthur is the Chief Learning Officer at the Raspberry Pi Foundation, where she is dedicated to expanding access to high-quality computing education. With a background in both education and technology, she has spent her career developing curriculum, supporting teachers, and driving initiatives that equip learners with the digital skills essential for today’s workforce. Rachel is particularly passionate about ensuring that all young people, regardless of their background or location, have the opportunity to build the skills they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world. She believes that access to computing education is not just about technology—it’s about creating opportunities, reducing inequalities, and preparing learners for the jobs of today and the future. To help address the digital skills gap, Rachel is working with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to develop the Raspberry Pi Certificate in Applied Computing, a qualification designed to equip young people with practical, industry-relevant computing skills. This initiative aims to ensure that learners have the knowledge and confidence to pursue careers in the digital economy.
