Ivo Ivanovski, Director for M&A, International Affairs and Regulation, Telekom Austria Group

Born in the Republic of Macedonia in 1978, Ivo Ivanovski moved to the USA in his senior high school year, where he also continued his college education. He holds a bachelor degree in Computer Sciences and Engineering from the Ohio State University and a master degree in Computer Sciences from Franklin University. In parallel with his education he started to work for the largest privately owned Plexiglas manufacturer in the world, Plaskolite Inc., moving up the corporate ladder from PC tech support specialist to Director of Information Technology for all Plaskolite manufacturing sites around the world.

After returning to Macedonia in 2006, he was elected by the Parliament as the Republic’s first Minister of Information Society and Administration and served for nine consecutive years. Under his administration and thanks to numerous internationally acclaimed initiatives Macedonia gained ICT-leadership in the Balkans. In 2015, Ivo resigned from his government position to continue his career back in the private sector. He joined America Movil to represent the company as Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs in Brussels. Since 1 September 2016, Ivo Ivanovski holds the position of Director for International Affairs and Regulation at Telekom Austria Group (TAG). Since 1 February 2017, he is also Director for Mergers & Acquisitions at TAG. 

Being a fervent advocate for digitalization, he has long been very active in several international institutions, serving for example on the board of directors of UN-GAID. From 2010 to 2015 he was Commissioner in the Broadband Commission for Digital Development of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and UNESCO. Currently he is a member of the Advisory Committee of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance. Since 2013, he is a Member of the Panel on the Future of Global Internet Cooperation. Also in 2013 he acted as Chairman on the 5th World Telecommunication Policy Forum in Geneva and was awarded the Silver Medal of Honor by ITU.
