Ste Ashton, Digital Infrastructure & Connectivity Manager, Worcestershire County Council

Ste leads the Digital Infrastructure and Connectivity team at Worcestershire County Council, he was the SRO of the Worcestershire 5G, focussed on Industry 4.0 and Security by Design, that built the first 5G network in a UK factory; he’s led the transition into nexGworx, a new entity providing testbed as a service and professional services for organisations looking at smart connected solutions, from strategy setting to systems integration. Ste also led the West Mercia Rural 5G project, exploring models for 5G deployment in rural areas and applications across health and social care.      Ste has a background in commercial, programme and project management in both public and private sectors, with experience across a range of disciplines from technology and change management to global sports events. In his spare time he coaches a junior sports team and spends time in the workshop with electrical and automotive challenges (feel free to ask).
