NB. All nominations submitted will be judged against their relevance to a timescale of March 01, 2010 to March 01, 2011. Submissions relating to activities outside of this 1 year timescale will not be put forward to the judging panel.

Summary: To identify an organisation who has gone beyond urban rail’s green credentials to deliver further benefit to the environment.

Judges will be looking for:

• Able to demonstrate a genuine, credible strategy to reduce the carbon footprint of the metro
• Delivering an environmentally minded organisation from management level downwards
• Innovative marketing to attract car owners on to the metro
• Environmental considerations during all stages of all metro projects such as upgrades and extensions
• Environmental considerations during day to day operations and maintenance
• Innovative future plans for a long-term sustainable environmental benefit
